Over the past 150 years the Clare Valley region has produced some of Australia’s best grain, beef, lamb, free-range eggs, seasonal fruit and other produce. Today the range of products includes craft beer, traditional cider, handmade chocolates, pasta, carob and extra virgin olive oil.
A new generation of local cooks and chefs are now using these fine products to create a distinct regional cuisine that reflects the changing seasons and also works marvellously with the Clare Valley’s award-winning wines.
The Merle Long Lunch
Join us at Slate Restaurant on 1st November 2025, for a long-table celebration of fine wine, exquisite food, and cherished family tradition as we unveil the 2025 release of ‘The Merle’ Reserve Riesling.
Hosted by Jamie Pike and Chief Winemaker Steve Baraglia, the afternoon begins with sparkling wine and canapés on arrival, followed by a luxurious five-course lunch expertly paired with ‘The Merle’ Reserve Riesling, ‘Traditionale’ Riesling, and a selection of special back-vintage wines.
