Over the past 150 years the Clare Valley region has produced some of Australia’s best grain, beef, lamb, free-range eggs, seasonal fruit and other produce. Today the range of products includes craft beer, traditional cider, handmade chocolates, pasta, carob and extra virgin olive oil.
A new generation of local cooks and chefs are now using these fine products to create a distinct regional cuisine that reflects the changing seasons and also works marvellously with the Clare Valley’s award-winning wines.
Slate Restaurant
Since opening in October 2018, Slate Restaurant at Pikes has quickly earned a reputation as one of the Clare Valley's premier dining experiences.
The restaurant offers a refined Modern Australian menu, with a strong focus on local, seasonal ingredients. Many dishes are inspired by the harvest from Slate's own kitchen garden, celebrating the freshest produce the region has to offer.
Complementing the food is an extensive wine list featuring the full range of Pikes estate-grown wines, including rare reserve and museum selections from the private cellar. Pikes Beer Company is also on tap, alongside a curated selection of premium spirits and freshly brewed coffee from the bar.
