Overview

The Fire of Sunday is a long, leisurely countryside lunch set against the historic backdrop of Martindale Hall in South Australia's Clare Valley.

Inspired by the Argentinian tradition of open-fire cooking, this immersive spring event brings people together to celebrate flavour, fire and connection in a uniquely South Australian setting.

Guests will gather in the estate's 19th-century stone coach house to enjoy a whole lamb roasted slowly over glowing embers by local fire cooks. The lamb is supplied by Wunderbar Lamb — Clare Valley's own Humane Choice Accredited producer — known for its ethical, regenerative approach to farming.

The feast will be paired with wines from Matriarch and Rogue, one of the region's most exciting boutique wineries, offering bold, characterful wines that perfectly complement the open-fire flavours.

With live acoustic music, a welcome drink on arrival, and additional wines available to purchase, this is Sunday as it was meant to be — relaxed, flavourful, and unforgettable.

Limited to 90 guests, The Fire of Sunday offers an intimate, indulgent experience in the heart of the Clare Valley — perfect for lovers of food, wine, history, and the romance of the great Australian countryside.

Ticket purchase included entry into Martindale Hall for a self guided tour.
