Established over 138 years ago and nestled in the heart of both a renowned wine region, and a crucible of South Australia’s agricultural heart lies the Clare Valley Racing Club. The rolling hills, swaying crops, giant eucalypts and ordered vineyards provide the most picturesque and unique setting for a country track in South Australia.

Clare Valley Racing Club hosts two unique race meetings, that brings together city visitors, wine lovers, farmers and the mid north community to host great country racing. The Clare Valley Cup held late each year is a keenly sought after trophy for the 1800 metre journey. The generous home straight provides the perfect vantage for punters and patrons alike to appreciate the equine athletes and their jockeys as they thunder past in the pursuit of the prize. The generous lawns of the club provide the perfect setting for the roar of the crowd to urge on their chosen combination or to simply recline and relax with a picnic and beverage of choice.

Easter Saturday at Clare is on the ‘To Do’ list for everyone in the mid north.  The Easter Saturday races provide a great social outing, with race-night tent or swag camping on site with security, a bacon and egg breakfast, and shuttle buses to transport you to Clare and return, or just enjoy a night under the stars. Families can enjoy a day filled with thrilling racing, kids activities, food stalls, and Fashion At The Races with classes for kids as well, Its all about the sash!

The day is a lively carnival with DJ, racing, dining options or bring a picnic lunch of your own and spread out on the lush lawns.
