Linhay Gallery, 13 Main North Road, Auburn SA 5451
Orange Tree Quilters present an exhibition of charity quilts made for children in the community, particularly those who need to travel to Melbourne for heart surgery. There is also a wide range of items for sale (Christmas shopping opportunity!) and a raffle to raise funds. Much of the fabric used for the quilt tops is generously donated by fellow quilters, but the group relies on fundraising to purchase batting, backing and some fabric. The first prize is a beautiful quilt valued at $1200.
OTQ President, Peggy Argent said "Our inspiration comes from the fabric that is donated and our creativity begins to flow, we make beautiful quilts and we are sure there are so many children around Adelaide who are warm and happy under their quilt. Oh did I say we are a very modest group? I can say most of us are retired as there is no time to go out to work!"Find out more
