Evilo Estate is a family owned business, run by Debbie & Giulio Dichiera along with our three sons Adam, Luca and Enzo. Making the move from Adelaide after running a seven day café, we decided on the beautiful Clare valley as our next venture, purchasing a property and homestead. The land was planted with olive trees of local wild root stock.
Throughout the grove the 1,100 trees were grafted with eight varieties, Verdale, Manzanillo, Corregiola, Pendolino, Koroneiki, Leccino, Frantoio and an unknown variety that arrived here in Australia 40 years ago from the family property in Southern Italy.
The family still produces oil on the farm that Giulio grew up on in Southern Italy. The first harvest - Evilo Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil was 1998 ……. with yields increasing yearly. 2004 we decided to set up a small cellar door at our homestead, providing locals, interstate and overseas visitors tasting’s of our product range -
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, winner of 3 Bronze awards 2002, 2003 2004, Annual Olives SA awards
Dukkah, Jams, chutneys and sauce
An added bonus to our bottles of oil, are the olive pourers, a popular choice of purchase.
Most ingredients are grown on the estate or sourced locally. The chillies are sun dried, as are the roma tomatoes for the dukkah.
Evilo Estate has also introduced ‘The oil in a box’ a 2 litre cask with a non drip tap dispenser. This product is very popular with the local buyers and tourists, especially at our monthly produce market, held the last Saturday of the month.
The 2 litre casks are an excellent concept for restaurants for use in dipping bowls of oil, dukkahs etc… No mess, no drips just turn on the tap.
Our oil is used widely throughout the Clare Valley by many chefs, restaurants, hotels and caterers.
Also available at Sevenhill cellars, Pikes Wines, Knappstein Wines, Epic Food, and Eldredge Winery.
Evilo Estate products are available at Cellar Door Friday to Monday 10.00am. – 3.30 pm.
