Recent History

In 2012, the Clare Valley Alliance was formed to brand and stimulate the Clare Valley Region. 
The Alliance is a collective group of representatives from each peek body in Clare.  The Peek Bodies are: Clare Valley Winemakers(CVWI), Clare Valley Cuisine(CVC), Clare Valley Business and Tourism Association (CVBTA), Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council(CGVC), Mid North Visual and Performing Arts Association(VAPAA), Clare Valley Grape Growers (CVGG) and Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North(RDAYMN).

Representing Business owners like yourself and the tourism culture within the Clare Valley is Clare Valley Business and Tourism Association (CVBTA).

CVBTA is a voluntary business and tourism organisation whose jurisdiction covers the Clare Valley Wine Region - extending from Auburn in the south to Clare in the North, Blyth to the West, Farrell Flat and Mintaro/Manoora in the East.  CVBTA undertook a name change to include the words ‘business and tourism’ in their title around six in order to bring further unity to all businesses within the Clare Valley area.

CVBTA’s core role is to cooperate with local authorities, tourism organisations and industry sectors, the SATC and other interested bodies, to encourage a coordinated tourism industry in the region.  They also encourage the development and provision of tourism facilities and attractions and provide a platform for tourism operators in the region to voice their opinions and concerns.  They provide assistance in selling marketing programs locally and advertising and promotional activities which do not conflict with those of SATC.

CVBTA currently manages, in which all members are entitled to as many relevant listings that is applicable to their business.  The domain is also owned by CVBTA and a brand new Official Clare Valley site is about to launched (with grant assistance thanks to the help from RDAYMN) which will turn the existing into an online directory style website.

Approximately every 18months we produce the grey cover DL Size Clare Valley Wine Region Visitor Guide, which is a member only publication.  In the last run, we produced 60,000 of these with a distribution over most of the state.

CVBTA releases a weekly e-news with business achievements, promotions and events.  Currently there are over 450 subscribers with a 40% opening rate.  This is another member only publication we issue and have found many accommodation providers will either forward onto their incoming guests or print out and leave in their rooms.

CVBTA proudly supports various events around the region and frequently supplies support letters for grants to be obtained.
